Animal Care California - Simple Guide To Taking Care Of Your Horse

By Betty Bell

You will find that most veterinarians and so-called animal health care practitioners say that, "A healthy pet is a happy pet." This is just not so. In fact, it is just the opposite, "A Happier pet is a healthier pet." Therefore, it is important take good care of your animal to guarantee its health. This article delves into tips and different methods of Animal Care California.

Animals, as a general rule, don't complain about their problems. If it is bad enough, then they wince or stumble or cry then the problem/pain is very bad. That is the only time you will hear from them about their problems. For this reason having a regular checkup is a good thing to do for your pet. Just as in humans, if you let the problem continue in hopes that it will go away it only compounds and causes further problems making the cure more involved and time-consuming.

Checking your horse's teeth is also another routine that you have to keep in mind to maintain a healthy horse. A yearly visit to an equine dentist would be best to maintain the pet's dental health as well. Remember that their teeth are just as important to them as they are to you.

Pain, obesity, bad habits, stiffness, etc. All have reasons for manifesting in the body. The reason veterinarians (and doctors) cannot cure these things is they don't realize that every person (including animals in the definition of person) have different sources for their problems. Though many have the same or similar symptoms, the cause is different for each, and no magic bullet exists to cure all.

Remind your children that baby animals grow up. A cute, cuddly puppy or kitten will be a full-grown dog or cat in about a year. It will still be lovable and affectionate, but it won't be tiny, and it won't be as cute as it was when you couldn't resist it. A commitment to a pet is a commitment for the pet's entire life, not only when they're small and cute, but also when they're older. Getting tired of an older dog or cat is no excuse to neglect or mistreat it.

Provide your equine with a good shelter - one that can protect him from the wind and the harsh weather outside. You may need to have a bigger stable if you plan to take care of some horses. Also, provide them with ample supply of clean water and make sure the watering trough is not empty. Regular cleaning of its stable is also recommended to maintain cleanliness and good hygiene for them.

Understanding them is key to them being happy and healthy. We know that junk food is not as healthy as a well-balanced diet, but yet we sneak that occasional cookie or bowl of ice cream or candy bar. This is not harmful. It satisfies a desire for such things, and as long as it is not overdone, just like anything else, it does not create a problem.

However, if it is withheld the desire to have some of these forbidden fruits becomes overwhelming to the point; we will gorge on them at some point. Pets are just the same in this respect. You need to understand that denying them the occasional table scrap or the tidbit of fresh raw fish is the same as you being denied the occasional cookie. When it comes to digestion, we humans differ with them immensely. Things that would make us gag are like candy to them.
