Canine Rehab Northern Virginia Therapy In Drug Rehab

By Joshua Rogers

Canine Therapy is not a new phenomenon. It has been performed for a long time ever since humans and dogs developed their envious friendship. The relationship between the two species has evolved collectively and intimately as well. The only thing new about Canine Therapy is calling it Canine Rehab Northern Virginia Therapy.

Everything that addiction has to do with involves self. Self-pity, self-absorption, self-esteem, self-delusion and self-will are all highlights of the phenomenon that is addiction. When people go to addiction treatment center, they only keep to themselves in a very small cocoon. Oftentimes, what first starts to pull away the packing tape is our Canine Therapist, epitomizing the Labrador Retriever dog, Cocoa.

Pre-Surgery- The initial treatment the vet recommended was water therapy. We could exercise him in a pool or sign up for sessions at the vet hospital. Since we have no pool access and Alvin hates the ocean, we opted for the second alternative.

There are herd dogs at f ranches; service dogs who help people with disabilities such as visual, mobility, and hearing impairment. Search and rescue dogs who work with rangers and emergency response teams; detection dogs are a common fixture at airports to sniff out bomb threats and illegal substances; and police and military dogs; these are just a few of the variety of jobs dogs have been tasked with.

Post-Surgery- After Alvin's surgery, we were rehabbing his knee at home using exercises supplied by his vet. The home rehab failed. Four weeks post-surgery he was walking half the time and hopping or limping the rest of the time. It takes several months for a dog to completely recover from ACL surgery, but we knew he needed more help than what we could provide. His vet recommended water therapy again.

Another additional task that you may have to do is the regular cleaning of its wheelchair. This would not be tiresome at all because most wheelchairs are made of materials that are easy to clean and maintain. Disassembling and assembling it can be done quickly.

Improving health- Dog massage is helpful in improving the health of a dog. The massage may at times be used as a form of therapy, helping your canine friend to get over its medical condition. When you take the time to massage your dog, you will spend quality time together. The relaxed atmosphere will help you to bond with your dog better. This is basically what differentiates your dog from many others. Your dog will trust you more, strengthening its loyalty to you.

Remember that your dog's life can be full of strain. A dog massage will help in getting rid of the effects of the strain. When you would like to give your dog the best possible care, you should not take dog massage for granted.
