Traits Of Good Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Breeders

By Elizabeth Johnson

Dogs can be wonderful pets and companions for both individuals and families. When someone decides to adopt a particular breed of dog, it is usually because these animals have an appealing look, desirable characteristics, or favorable behavioral traits. When looking for reputable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breeders, there are certain things one should know, and precautions to take.

When one decides to seek out a particular breed of dog, where it comes from should be a matter of concern. An animal that comes from a breeder often does so at a significant cost because they are basically providing a level of surety that the bloodlines will be pure and the puppy's health well. Unfortunately, not all providers are as dedicated to the health and well being of their dogs as others.

To ensure that one's puppy is in good health and from pure blood lines, it is best to choose a provider with a solid reputation. Unfortunately, it is a common problem to find providers who use such unethical practices as breeding dogs of impure lineage, or who are older and sickly. This can result in puppies that fail to meet the quality standards that the clients are seeking.

This is quite a significant purchase and should not be done without first doing the proper amount of research. It is quite easy to simply Google facilities that provide the desired breed. However, this is not the most reliable method gathering a list of facilities to consider.

A lot of people find that speaking with other individuals who own the breed is a good way to both find a breeder. This can be done through avenues such as local kennel clubs or online forums. In speaking with current owners, one can inquire as to what facility they used, how their experience with the providers went, and if they have had any issues with their pups after purchase.

Simply choosing to use the first facility that is suggested is not necessarily a good decision. They may not be up to the standards that one desires, so additional research is recommended. The purchaser will surely benefit from taking these extra steps to make an informed decision, since this type of purchase can be quite costly.

Some things interested purchasers might feel the need to check on include, if the facility has the proper paperwork for each animal involved, if they allow clients to view the site physically or by video, and if there have been any complaints lodged against them. If one has the opportunity to pay a physical visit to the breeder, this is highly advisable. It allows one to judge for themselves just how well the animals are being treated, and the cleanliness of the space in which they are being kept, and whether they are allowed proper exercise.

Knowing what services and actions a provider takes with the animals prior to clients taking possession can have a huge impact on the well-being and development of the puppies. This is a significant financial investment and a lifetime commitment which should not be taken lightly. Making sure a pup has a good start in life goes a long way towards ensuring it continues to grow properly.
